Kantemir Baizakov, a hunter from the village of Ichke-Bulun located in the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region, successfully shot three wolves.

This information was provided to a Turmush correspondent.

According to Baizakov, the predators have begun to pose a serious threat to local shepherds by attacking livestock.

“I have been hunting predators for 15 years. I usually go to remote valleys. On February 1, we were approached by shepherds who reported that wolves were attacking livestock in the Ak-Shyyrak valley. Together with my younger brother Duyshonbu Mukalaev, we went to the scene and killed three adult wolves in the Beshik and Tuyuk gorges, which lead to the Ak-Shyyrak valley,” he said.

The shepherds reported that the predators were attacking yak calves. Each of the killed wolves weighed over 50 kilograms. This season, Kantemir has already shot more than ten wolves and plans to continue hunting these predators. Recently, they also visited the remote Archaly valley in the Ton district, where they managed to hunt another wolf. “The predators are now descending to the foothills, creating a danger for livestock,” the hunter added.
