

At the 2nd meeting of the transport ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul today, the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, Abdykalyk Syrgabaev, was present.
During the event, key issues regarding the development of transport infrastructure, the expansion of logistics corridors, the reduction of barriers on transport routes, and the implementation of modern digital technologies were discussed.
Speaking at the meeting, the minister emphasized the importance of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, which is a priority for the country.
“Kyrgyzstan is actively promoting infrastructure projects aimed at modernizing both the road and railway sectors, as well as developing logistics centers and improving transit potential. The construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is one of the most significant directions,” he stressed.
In addition, Abdykalyk Syrgabaev noted that Kyrgyzstan is open to cooperation within the framework of joint projects and initiatives aimed at developing the transport sector.
“Today, issues of sustainable and environmentally friendly transport are becoming particularly relevant. Kyrgyzstan supports initiatives aimed at developing environmentally safe modes of transport and reducing negative impacts on the environment,” the minister added.
