The State Committee for National Security (GKNB) discovered that the building of the 'Batken tany' editorial office in Batken was illegally transferred to private hands. According to the committee, in January 2010, contrary to the strategic importance of the facility, the Ministry of State Property, acting under the government resolution of the Kyrgyz Republic dated September 17, 2008, No. 518 "On the program for the privatization of state property in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2008–2012," sold the building and the adjacent land plot of 0.22 hectares in violation of the legislation.
As a result of the investigations conducted, the building was returned to state ownership.
