Strengthening Engineering Security of the State Border and Counteracting Smuggling Discussed in Kulunda

On March 3, 2026, a working meeting dedicated to border security issues was held in the village of Kulundu, in the Leilek district. The event was chaired by Abdikarim Alimbaev, the chairman of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, as reported by the press service of the agency.

The agenda included topics such as the status of engineering equipment work on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the border, methods for combating smuggling, and a discussion of the current global political situation.

Participants in the meeting included commanders of military units, representatives of border units, as well as Jenishbek Asylbek, the akim of the Leilek district, and law enforcement officers.

As a result of the meeting, clear instructions were issued to strengthen both physical and engineering border security, enhance the effectiveness of preventive measures, and improve the exchange of operational information between various units.
