After the rains, fans of "quiet hunting" have once again gone in search of the blue-footed mushroom, also known as the lilac-legged row.

According to local residents, mushrooms have already appeared in large quantities in the foothills of the region. "Blue-footed mushrooms can withstand frosts down to minus five degrees Celsius and quickly adapt to changing weather. They prefer to grow in meadows and pastures, as well as in forest belts where there are many poplars and oaks. Usually, these mushrooms grow in large groups, forming paths or circles," they report.

According to biologist Irina Stezhko, the "blue-footed" or lilac-legged row is a delicious mushroom known in Kyrgyzstan for its bright purple or blue stem. "For safe consumption, blue feet require heat treatment; they need to be boiled before frying or pickling. This mushroom has a mild taste reminiscent of champignons and a fruity aroma. It is also beneficial for metabolism, supports the immune system, and helps eliminate toxins, which is important for the cardiovascular system," she concluded.
