In Kara-Balta, a resident named Madina Murzakhamedova, along with her family, decided to prepare sümölök, a traditional dish made for the Nowruz holiday.

Initially, the treat was planned only for the family table, but soon it was decided to increase the amount of ingredients since the cooking process takes the same amount of time.

As Madina herself mentioned, this process turned out to be quite complex and labor-intensive: in the end, 15 kg of wheat, 45 kg of flour, and 6 liters of oil were used.

“This is the first time I am cooking on such a large scale. The main thing is patience and desire,” she noted.

Preparing sümölök takes about 18 hours of boiling, and then the dish simmers for several more hours.

The unusual cooking process attracted the attention of local residents: passersby stop to stir the sümölök, make a wish, and hope that it turns out sweet.

By the evening of March 21, the dish should be ready — the final volume will be approximately 60 liters.

Madina plans to treat everyone who wishes to try it, as the secret to delicious sümölök lies in constant stirring and good wishes.
