Valentina Shevchenko successfully defended her title in the UFC for the second consecutive time.

On November 16 at UFC 322 in New York, the Kyrgyz athlete faced Weili Zhang, the former strawweight champion and the second-ranked fighter in the PFP rankings from China.

At the post-fight press conference, Shevchenko shared her thoughts on a possible trilogy with Amanda Nunes.

“Fans would certainly like to see our third fight, as we have unresolved questions. However, at this moment, it is unclear whether she will return to the ring. If she does, in what form – will it be the full version of Amanda or not?” noted Shevchenko.

Nunes and Shevchenko have already faced each other twice in the UFC in the bantamweight division. The first fight took place in March 2016, where Nunes won by unanimous decision. Their rematch for the title occurred in September 2017, in which Nunes again emerged victorious, this time by split decision.
