At the OCTAGON 80 tournament held in Astana, Ruslan Kasymaly Uulu confirmed his championship ambitions by defeating Kazakh fighter Nurzhigit Baymen (8-0-2), who had previously been undefeated. The fight lasted all five rounds, and the judges unanimously awarded victory to the Kyrgyzstani.
Kasymaly Uulu won his championship belt on September 27, 2024, at the OCTAGON 63 tournament, where he knocked out an opponent from Azerbaijan. He made his first title defense on January 18, 2025, at OCTAGON 69, winning against Russian Bair Shtepin by decision.
The victory in Astana allowed him to maintain his perfect record in professional sports and continue his dominance in the bantamweight division (up to 61 kg).
