At the tournament in the weight category up to 54 kg, 16-year-old BYAMBATSOGT Myagmars became the first Mongolian athlete to win a bronze medal in the history of the Asian Youth Games in Muay Thai.

Out of 19 participants in his category, Byambatsogt achieved victories over opponents from Palestine and Turkmenistan, but in the semifinals, he lost to Cambodian Chong Visal, who won silver, thus securing a bronze medal for himself. The gold medal was awarded to Uzbek fighter Nurkhuzhaev Mukaffar.

Over the course of 10 days at the youth games, athletes from 45 countries, members of the Olympic Council of Asia, will compete in 24 different sports. These games will take place 12 years after the previous ones, which were held in Singapore in 2009 and in Nanjing (China) in 2013.
