The Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) competitions took place from November 22 to 29 in Tashkent, featuring five teams that played in a round-robin format.
At the beginning of the tournament, the Kyrgyz team secured two victories against the teams of Iran and Turkmenistan, both matches ending with the same score of 1:0.
However, in the third match, the Kyrgyzstan team suffered a defeat against the tournament hosts, the Uzbekistan team, with a score of 0:3. In the final match, the Kyrgyz team confidently defeated the Tajikistan team with a score of 5:0.
As a result, having earned 9 points, the Kyrgyzstan team finished in second place overall, only conceding to the Uzbek team, which finished in first place by a margin of 1 point.
