The National Bank extended the ban on charging fees for money transfers between banks in the Kyrgyz Republic.

On December 3 of this year, the board of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic (NB KR) announced the extension of the ban on charging commissions for money transfers in soms within the country. This information was provided by the financial regulator, according to data from Kaktus.media.

According to the adopted resolution, from January 1 to December 31, 2026, commercial banks and payment organizations are not allowed to charge commission fees from individuals for money transfer services in the national currency. This rule applies to transfers made through mobile applications and online banking.

This decision was made to improve the population's access to digital financial services and to promote the development of cashless payments. We remind you that this restriction has been in effect in the country since November 2024.
