Turumbekov Asanbek Ryskulovich

(1936-1987)
Graphic artist. Painter. Born on August 27, 1936, in the village named after Kurentkeev in the Kemin district. In 1955, he graduated from the Frunze Art College. Since 1960, he worked as an art editor for the satirical magazine "Chalkan".

Since 1970, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.

As a graphic artist, he worked in poster art and satirical magazine illustrations, and as a painter, he focused on landscape and genre compositions.

The relevance of the subjects, expressiveness of the drawing, and color are characteristic of A. Turumbekov's easel works (pastel, watercolor, monotype, oil). The artist also proved to be a capable illustrator of children's books, distinguished by good humor and cheerfulness. In 1969, his works were awarded a Silver Medal at the international exhibition "Satire in the Struggle for Peace" in Moscow.

Participant in republican, nationwide, and international exhibitions. His best works are housed in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts.
