Koshoyev Belek Dzhumagazievich
(1944-1979)Graphic artist. Born on January 19, 1944, in the village of Burana, Chuy region. In 1967, he graduated from the Frunze Art School and in 1972 from the Moscow Polygraphic Institute.
From 1968 to 1972, he worked as an art editor at the "Kyrgyzstan" publishing house and as the chief art editor at the "Mektep" publishing house. Since 1977, he worked at the Art Fund of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Since 1978, he was a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
An artist with a distinctive creative style, he embodied a lyrical narrative about the life of the Kyrgyz people in his graphic sheets and miniatures. His favorite techniques were pen drawing and silver pencil drawing. The style of B. Koshoyev's works shows a noticeable influence of medieval graphics from the peoples of the Far East. The artist's creativity is marked by humor, attention to authentic details of life, and love for folk customs. He also worked in book illustration. Koshoyev's works are housed in the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev.
