Kyrgyzstan accounts for about 0.7% of the total coal production in the CIS

- From January to September 2025, the total volume of coal production (both hard and brown coal, lignite) in the CIS countries amounted to 409.2 million tons, according to statistics.

Compared to last year, this figure increased by 1.3% (index — 101.3% relative to the same period in 2024).

Russia remains the leader in coal production, with 314.1 million tons mined (index — 100.1%). Kazakhstan ranks second with 84.6 million tons (105.9%).

In Kyrgyzstan, coal production for the first nine months of 2025 reached 2.9 million tons, which is 6.3% (106.3%) more than in the same period last year. Thus, Kyrgyzstan's share in the total coal production in the CIS reaches approximately 0.71%.

Among other countries in the region, Uzbekistan produced 5.6 million tons (105.3%), while Tajikistan mined 2.0 million tons (103.8%). Data on coal production in Azerbaijan and Belarus are absent from the report.
