During the specified timeframe, the creation of a platform for the digital som and the launch of pilot testing of P2P transfers without intermediaries are planned.
Funding for the project will be provided by the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, which will also act as the issuer of the digital som.
The country's National Bank plans to conduct testing in three stages.
Previously, the head of the NB KR, Melis Turgunbaev, emphasized that the digital som will be legally established as the third form of national currency alongside cash and non-cash funds. He noted that exclusive rights to issue the digital som belong to the regulator.
