The country has taken an important step in the financial sector by launching its first stablecoin, named USDKG. This state digital asset, which is pegged to the exchange rate of the som, was officially launched by the Ministry of Finance. According to data published on the "Open Budget" portal, the creation of the stablecoin cost 438,480.75 soms.

The registration process took place at the Financial Market Regulation and Supervision Service (Finansur) just a week ago.

The Joint Stock Company "Issuer of Virtual Assets" became the issuer of the new asset, with the Ministry of Finance being the sole founder of this company.

Thus, USDKG is the first state digital asset presented in Kyrgyzstan.

It is worth noting that the founder of Binance, Changpeng Zhao, was the first to announce the launch of the national stablecoin in the country at the end of October.

Previously, the president issued an order to launch the KGST stablecoin and begin testing the digital som. This issue was actively discussed at a meeting of the National Council for the Development of Virtual Assets and Blockchain Technologies, which was attended by both Sadyr Japarov and Changpeng Zhao.
