The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic is working on a draft law that provides for the introduction of liability for non-compliance in the production and certification of halal products.
According to the department, changes to the Code of Offenses will include fines for the sale of halal products and the provision of halal services without the appropriate certificates.
The draft law will also address violations committed by certification bodies during inspections and confirmation of compliance of products with halal standards.
At the same time, work is underway to improve the halal certification system, which includes the digitalization of the certificate issuance process and the implementation of more effective control procedures for the production and labeling of goods.
These initiatives are aimed at protecting consumer rights and increasing trust in halal products in the country.
In addition, the ministry emphasized that previously identified violations, such as the presence of pork DNA in some producers, have been successfully eliminated after reviewing production processes and conducting repeated laboratory analyses.
