Silver has risen to a record high following gold

On Tuesday, January 20, at the Comex trading platform, which is part of the New York Mercantile Exchange, the price of silver reached an all-time high. By 12:10 PM Moscow time, the price of the precious metal exceeded $95 per troy ounce for the first time in its history, recording a level of $95.2. This represented an increase of 7.52 percent compared to the previous session's close.

The highest price for silver reached $95.4 per ounce. Simultaneously, another important precious metal—gold—also set a record, surpassing the mark of $4720, with a maximum value of $4723.

Analysts attribute the sharp rise in prices for major precious metals to the deteriorating geopolitical situation in the world.
