NESC will install 390 thousand 'smart' meters in 2026

The Open Joint Stock Company "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan" has announced its intentions to install 390 thousand "smart" meters for the population in 2026 across the country.

The project, implemented with the support of the World Bank, aims to modernize Kyrgyzstan's energy infrastructure.

The meters will be distributed as follows:

- Bishkek – 91,210 units;

- Chui Region – 89,129 units;

- Osh Region – 68,242 units;

- Batken Region – 54,997 units;

- Jalal-Abad Region – 71,546 units.

The goal of digitalization is to improve the transparency of electricity accounting, reduce technical and commercial losses, as well as enhance the quality of electricity supply and develop digital infrastructure in this area.

The use of "smart" meters will allow real-time monitoring of electricity consumption, quickly identify malfunctions, prevent unauthorized connections, and create accurate data for calculations.

Moreover, such a system contributes to effective consumption management and helps citizens use energy resources rationally.
