AgroDialog – 2026. A farmer from the Ak-Talinsky district is developing the Kyrgyz horse breed

Since 2005, a farmer from the Ak-Talinsky district has been actively engaged in breeding the Kyrgyz horse breed, which has significantly increased the population and preserved its unique breed qualities. This information was announced at the forum "AgroDialog – 2026."

Thanks to persistent efforts, in 2025 his farm received official breeding status.

The Kyrgyz horse has a high ability to adapt to the challenging conditions of mountainous terrain and harsh climates. Even with a snow cover of 40-50 cm, these animals can independently find food and easily move through the mountains, experiencing no significant problems in difficult natural conditions.

The farmer is actively working to increase the number of Kyrgyz horses to preserve the breed and prevent its extinction. These animals are known for their resistance to diseases, excellent cold tolerance, and minimal feed requirements, making them particularly valuable for mountainous regions.

Currently, the farm has more than 50 horses. Special attention is given to the protective instinct of the stallions, which show high endurance and are capable of defending the herd even from wolves.

This initiative makes a significant contribution to the development of animal husbandry in the country, helps preserve the genetic pool of the Kyrgyz horse, and ensures the transfer of this unique breed to future generations.
