At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with issues of industrial policy, transport, and energy, the Ministry of Energy presented its plans for 2026.
Minister Talaybek Ibraev outlined the key areas of work:
- preparation of an intergovernmental agreement for the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 project;
- signing of the project for the construction of the upper spillway for the Kambar-Ata HPP-2;
- completion of the modernization of two hydro units at the Uch-Kurgan HPP;
- development and completion of the feasibility study for the Kazarman and Suusamyr-Kokomerene HPPs;
- completion of internal procedures for the Kemin-Balykchy 500 kV power line, selection of a contractor, and commencement of design work;
- signing of an investment agreement for the Kara-Kechinskaya TPP project and development of the feasibility study;
- creation of an implementation plan for the Upper Naryn cascade of HPPs;
- attracting investments for the implementation of the Chaldovar HPP project.
