On February 8, 2023, President Sadyr Japarov made a working trip to the Issyk-Kul region, where he visited Jyrgalan together with Binance founder Changpeng Zhao.
First, they familiarized themselves with the territory of the new complex, and then studied the construction process of the year-round ski cluster "Ala-Tuu Resort," which includes three resort areas: Jyrgalan, Ak-Bulak, and Boz-Uchuk.
The Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, Azamat Kadyraliev, presented the project, emphasizing its advantages such as strategic location, environmental friendliness, investment attractiveness, and compliance with international standards.
Currently, modern cable infrastructure is actively being constructed, including high-speed combined cable cars B1 and B2, which will provide a comfortable ascent for tourists in both closed cabins and open chairs.
The total area of the ski cluster will be 3,916 hectares, and the length of the slopes will reach 260 km, allowing "Ala-Tuu Resort" to rank among the top ten resorts in the world by this indicator.
The complex will also feature a panoramic restaurant, conference halls, a medical center, a stadium, an amphitheater, and recreational parks.
Currently, work is underway on the construction of drinking water supply systems, designing treatment facilities, and laying power lines, as well as reconstructing the Karakol - Jyrgalan road.
Azamat Kadyraliev noted that in implementing the project, the state provides investors with an individual approach and minimizes bureaucracy at the document preparation stage.
The completion of the construction of cable cars and private villas is planned for July, and the opening of the first phase of the resort town of Jyrgalan will take place in December. Next year, the construction of three-, four-, and five-star hotels is also planned.
After that, the president and Changpeng Zhao experienced off-piste skiing (freeride).
The founder of Binance expressed his impressions of the skiing experience and the tourism potential of Kyrgyzstan, noting the beauty of the mountain landscapes and the purity of the air. He emphasized that he would recommend Kyrgyzstan as a vacation destination to his friends and partners.
