At the ceremony for handing over the keys to 81 units of vehicles to the Ministry of Defense, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev was present.

Representing the president and the government, Kasymaliev congratulated the Ministry of Defense on the new acquisition made with budget funds.

“The new vehicles include 19 JAC T-6 cars and 36 Chevrolet cars produced at the Kyrgyz plant 'Tulpar Motors'. The defense of our country is a sacred duty. A modern army must combine the spirit of our ancestors with the wisdom of the times. Our warriors, like in ancient times, show resilience and courage, but now they have modern equipment in their hands. Instead of a sword, there is technology; instead of a shield, there is law and order; instead of a bow, there is knowledge. We are confident that our soldiers understand their responsibility to the Motherland. The oath is not just words; it is their destiny. Service is not a profession, but a life responsibility. With such an army, our borders will be protected, and the sky will be peaceful,” he noted, adding that the new equipment will significantly increase the mobility of units and ensure the safe movement of personnel.

Kasymaliev also drew attention to the significant strengthening of the country's defense capabilities in recent years. The budget of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic has increased by more than 300% compared to 2018-2019. These funds are directed towards improving the material and technical base, equipping the army with modern weapons and equipment, as well as developing the infrastructure of military units and garrisons. Modern samples of weapons have been purchased, including air defense systems and electronic warfare systems.

The head of the cabinet also noted the successful implementation of the first stage of digitalization in the Ministry of Defense, which has optimized document flow and accounting processes. An electronic military registration system has already been launched in five military commissariats, and by the end of March, it will be implemented in another 25 commissariats. The digitization of military IDs has also begun.

In addition, Kasymaliev touched upon issues of social protection for military personnel. The daily compensation for housing rent in Bishkek has been increased to 500 soms, and in the regions, to 420 soms. The monthly compensation for mortgage housing is 18,000 soms for military personnel in Bishkek and 15,000 soms in the regions. Additionally, military personnel with over 20 years of service are provided compensation until the mortgage is fully paid off, and the opportunity to purchase housing through a mortgage is available regardless of the region. In the near future, more than 900 apartments will be provided for military personnel of the Ministry of Defense through the State Mortgage Company.

For reference: 81 units of vehicles have been transferred to the Ministry of Defense, including: 36 Chevrolet Cobalt cars, 19 JAC T-6 vehicles, 18 Gazelle vehicles, 5 passenger buses, and 3 JAC Sunray minibuses.
