Over 11 billion soms allocated for state support of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan in 2025
The decline in harvest volumes was caused by low yields in the Chui, Talas, and Batken regions. This year also saw a shortage of irrigation water and drier spring and summer months compared to the previous year, as well as earlier ripening of some crops — by 2–3 weeks, which led to an early start of harvesting.
In 2025, the gross harvest of wheat decreased by 26.8%, barley by 26.5%, sugar beets by 43.7%, tobacco by 44.2%, cotton by 49.2%, oilseeds by 11.7%, legumes by 3.6%, and potatoes by 1.7%.
However, compared to 2024, the gross harvest of corn for grain increased by 5.1%, rice by 17.0%, vegetables by 11.3%, fruit and berry crops by 17.5%, and melons by 7.1%, which allowed the overall gross harvest of agricultural products to remain at 100.2%.
The total area of sown land in 2025 amounted to 1,245.6 thousand hectares, which is 0.1% less than in 2024. The number of agricultural cooperatives increased from 753 to 821, and the area of land they cultivated grew to 55,454 hectares. During the year, 68 new cooperatives were established with a total area of 1,007 hectares.
Preliminary data shows that in 2025, state support for agriculture amounted to over 11 billion soms. Within this support, projects were implemented for the development of seed production and nurseries (preferential loans amounting to 15.8 million soms), breeding livestock (584.1 million soms), and financing consolidated producers (218.2 million soms). Additionally, under the "Agricultural Financing - 13" program, preferential loans were granted to 6,487 rural producers for a total amount of 4.1 billion soms.
