Representatives from the government, various departments, international partners, and UNIDO experts participated in the meeting.
As a result of the meeting, the Regulations on the National Coordinating Body were approved, outlining its mandate, functions, structure, and methods of inter-agency interaction.
This step marks the transition from the framework agreement signed in July 2025 to a more active "project phase," where initiatives will be selected, roles will be assigned, and coordination mechanisms will be established.
The program aims to enhance the competitiveness of the country's industry, expand export opportunities, implement new technologies and innovations, develop industrial infrastructure and human capital, as well as support sustainable and "green" growth.
Government agencies have identified priority areas for cooperation: the agro-industrial complex, light and pharmaceutical industries, digital transformation and innovation, as well as tourism development. UNIDO experts proposed areas for technical assistance, including the establishment of integrated agri-food parks, the development of aquaculture and fisheries, as well as measures to improve the competitiveness of the textile and pharmaceutical sectors.
The year 2026 will serve as a starting point for practical initiatives and the formation of a project portfolio, while 2027–2028 will be crucial for:
- expanding the project portfolio (transitioning from pilot projects to sector packages);
- mobilizing financial and technical resources for specific initiatives (negotiations with partners, donors, and development institutions);
- ensuring sustainable inter-agency governance so that projects do not "get stuck" between agencies and are implemented on time;
- developing infrastructure components, including industrial infrastructure and related areas—competencies, digital solutions, standards, and technological chains.
Following the meeting, the organizers reported that the next steps have been outlined: forming a project portfolio, developing inter-agency cooperation, and activating efforts to attract resources for the timely launch of initiatives and achieving goals in the area of industrial development in the country.
