- The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) in the Kyrgyz Republic has published a draft report for 2024.

According to the document, data on gold mining by artisanal miners in Kyrgyzstan remains unclear, as gold purchasing points that provide reports to the Department of Precious Metals under the Ministry of Finance of the KR present zero reporting.

In 2023, 23 individuals were engaged in artisanal mining, which is a 70% increase compared to 2022. They reported 18.1 thousand soms, which corresponds to the figures of 2022. In 2024, 35 patents were issued, under which 58.6 thousand soms were collected, marking a 105% increase.

The report also indicates that indirect estimates suggest a significant number of citizens are actually engaged in this activity.
