In the Central Asia region, the main barrier for the agricultural sector remains the synchronization of data and logistics, - advisor to the Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan
He noted that, according to the country's leadership estimates, the volume of agriculture could grow from the current $40 billion to $60 billion.
To achieve these goals, it is necessary to ensure sustainable exchange, improve product quality, and implement digital technologies in the industry. He stated that the main barrier remains not only production and trade but also the synchronization of information flows and logistics. Kushnazarov pointed out that access to international markets will be possible through the implementation of digital traceability of products and electronic veterinary certificates.
He also reported that Uzbekistan adopted a state program for the digitalization of agriculture in August 2025, which includes the creation of a unified platform for integrating data from agricultural producers and agribusiness, as well as the use of drones.
Among the top priorities, he highlighted the need to unite the efforts of government agencies, companies, and industry associations to implement digital solutions and harmonize standards, which he believes remains a significant obstacle for producers.
Kushnazarov added that regulatory reforms have already led to a transition to a more efficient model that meets sanitary requirements and international standards.
Moreover, he noted that over the past nine years, the export of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan has increased from $600 million to $3 billion, with the goal of raising this figure to $5 billion.
In conclusion, he emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and interaction with partners, stressing that digitalization and standardization can enhance trust and expand access to markets.
