
On February 4, 2026, during his working visit to Bahrain, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Saudi Arabia, Ulukbek Maripov, met with the Minister of Finance and National Economy of Bahrain, Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the meeting focused on issues of deepening and expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries.
During the conversation, the ambassador emphasized the need to establish a joint intergovernmental commission, as well as to hold its first meeting in Kyrgyzstan during 2026. Issues related to the implementation of bilateral visits, expanding the legal framework, and launching regular direct flights between Bishkek and Manama in the near future were also discussed.
Sheikh Salman Al-Khalifa expressed gratitude for the proposals and information provided, noting his department's readiness to assist in resolving all the issues raised.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working on bilateral issues and strengthening trade and economic ties between Kyrgyzstan and Bahrain.
