Recently, an Investment Dialogue took place between the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif, in Islamabad. This event discussed the possibilities of expanding trade and economic ties between the two countries.

During the business forum, participants were presented with information about Kyrgyzstan's investment potential, focusing on opportunities for deepening cooperation with Pakistan.

Shahbaz Sharif welcomed the delegation from Kyrgyzstan and expressed hope that the meeting would lead to the development of mutual trade relations, the establishment of joint ventures, and new investments in areas such as education and healthcare.

The Prime Minister noted that over 8,000 students from Pakistan are studying in medical institutions in Kyrgyzstan. He also reported on an agreement between the parties to create a certification mechanism that would allow graduates to work in both Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan.

Shahbaz Sharif characterized Sadyr Japarov as a young and dynamic leader who is actively working to improve the welfare of the people of Kyrgyzstan.

He also noted that one of the significant achievements of the president lies in the fight against corruption and nepotism, which distinguishes him from other regional leaders.

In his opinion, these successes are crucial for the sustainable development of the country.

Sadyr Japarov, in his speech, emphasized the importance of foreign economic relations for the country's development and expressed confidence that there are all prerequisites for effective partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan.

The President noted that with the proper use of transport and transit mechanisms, both countries could gain access to large global markets.

Kyrgyzstan, as a member of the Eurasian Economic Union and having GSP+ status, can become a transport corridor for Pakistan to European and Eurasian markets, he emphasized.

Speaking about the economic successes of the country, Japarov reported on priorities in attracting investments in sectors such as hydropower, logistics, agriculture, and tourism.

He also talked about the National Development Program until 2030, under which large projects are being implemented, such as the Ala-Too Resort ski resort and the construction of the Kambar-Ata-1 hydropower station.

In conclusion of his speech, the President of Kyrgyzstan drew attention to the implementation of digital financial instruments and the creation of a virtual asset market.

He reported on the establishment of a National Council for the development of this sector, as well as the launch of the national stablecoin KGST.

The President expressed readiness to cooperate with Pakistani entrepreneurs in the field of virtual assets, mentioning that Kyrgyzstan ranks 19th in the world in cryptocurrency adoption.
