Damirbek Bikulov, Deputy Director of the National Investment Agency, noted in his speech that by the end of 2024, trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Korea will exceed $435 million.
“We expect that this figure will grow by more than 30% this year compared to last year. During the official visit of President Sadyr Japarov to Korea in December 2024, 22 bilateral agreements aimed at developing Kyrgyz-Korean relations were signed. We highly value the Korean experience in high technologies and are open to mutually beneficial cooperation,” he emphasized.
Urmаt Takirov, Director of the "Kyrgyz Export" Center under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, highlighted the strategically advantageous geographical position of Kyrgyzstan and provided information on doing business, including the establishment of legal entities, tax regulation, features of the banking sector, and opportunities offered by free economic zones. He also identified priority sectors for investment, such as agriculture, hydropower, tourism, light industry, and e-commerce.
“Today, favorable conditions have been created in the country for starting businesses and establishing joint ventures. The import of equipment for domestic production will be exempt from VAT if it is not resold. We are ready to provide analytics and consulting support to help you enter international markets,” added Urmat Takirov.
The second day of the business forum is scheduled for December 5, during which a Korean-Central Asian comprehensive consumer goods exhibition will take place. The exhibition will feature Korean products for both the general public and professional buyers, with opportunities for retail sales of samples and direct interaction with manufacturers.
