At the business forum of CAREC, the Minister of Economy and Commerce, Bakyt Sydykov, presented the key directions of the National Development Program of Kyrgyzstan, which is planned until 2030. He highlighted the main goals and objectives of this document for the participants of the event.

According to the minister, the stable growth of the country's economy is ensured by a sound investment policy and the implementation of large projects.

“Over the past three years, we have observed record growth rates of the economy — an average of 9 percent annually. GDP increased from 1 trillion 20.7 billion soms in 2022 to 1 trillion 523.2 billion in 2024. All sectors of the economy showed positive dynamics: industry — 7 percent, agriculture — 5 percent, construction — 16 percent, services — 8 percent. This growth was made possible by attracting investments. During this period, we attracted about $23 billion, including $3.7 billion in direct foreign investments. We are constantly working to improve the business climate, simplifying rules and eliminating unnecessary barriers, ensuring the protection of investors' rights,” he noted.

The minister also presented a strategic document — the National Development Program of Kyrgyzstan until 2030.

“As part of the program's implementation, we plan to ensure an annual GDP growth of at least 8 percent. This will allow us to reach an economic volume of $30 billion and increase GDP per capita to $4,500. The main priorities include the development of human capital, improving the quality and accessibility of education and healthcare, supporting small and medium-sized businesses, attracting investments, and reducing the unemployment rate to 5 percent,” added Bakyt Sydykov.

He highlighted four key areas for achieving economic growth: industrialization, development of agriculture and tourism, creation of a regional hub, and green energy.

“To achieve the set goals, consolidated work from all participants — the state, business, citizens, and international partners — is necessary. We aim to double the volume of industrial production and increase the share of investments in fixed capital of the industry to 50 percent. The development of sectors such as machine engineering, pharmaceuticals, textile industry, and construction materials production is planned, as well as the implementation of modern technologies. This will significantly enhance export potential and create new jobs,” concluded Bakyt Sydykov.
