A meeting was held in Bishkek, attended by the Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bakyt Sydykov, as well as representatives of tax services from all four districts of the capital. According to the press service of the ministry, the purpose of the meeting was to discuss prices for socially significant goods.

Addressing those present, Sydykov emphasized the importance of reducing prices for these goods.

“We are actively working with large hypermarkets and markets in Bishkek. There is already an understanding on their part and some positive results in reducing prices. Considering that this affects the entire supply chain, it is necessary to review the current pricing proposals. We act in the interests of our citizens and do not call for working at a loss, but only expect a reasonable approach. At the same time, our Antimonopoly Service is strengthening control: over the past two days, more than 30 fines have been imposed,” the minister reported.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, together with the antimonopoly service, will continue to monitor the pricing situation in the market to ensure stability and protect the interests of the population.
