- During the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on agricultural policy, water resources, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection, held on February 9, 2026, Deputy Erkeaiym Seitkazieva raised the issue of opening a livestock market in the Issyk-Ata district.

She noted that the livestock market was previously located in Tokmok, but it was moved to the Kemin district, which is far from the Issyk-Ata district.

In response, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Bakyt Torobaev stated that the issue could be considered if the local infrastructure meets the necessary requirements.

“We provided a year to rectify the violations at the livestock market in Tokmok, but no changes occurred, so the market was closed,” he noted.

Torobaev added that there are 48 livestock markets in Kyrgyzstan, and a significant portion of them do not meet established standards.

This issue was discussed within the framework of the draft resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh “On the progress of preparations for conducting spring field and economic works in the Kyrgyz Republic in 2026.”
