The deputy requested to repair the canal in the Talas region

At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh held on February 11, 2026, Deputy Medina Kairylbekova raised the issue of the need to repair the canal in the Talas region. She pointed out that there is a significant leakage of irrigation water in this area.
Kairylbekova proposed to concrete the canal to avoid losses, which account for about 60% of the total water volume.
In response, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Bakyt Torobaev confirmed that a concrete cover would be installed in this section.
Also during the meeting, information was reviewed from the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding preparations for spring field and economic activities in 2026 in the country.
