Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh met with the Ambassador of Pakistan

The Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliyev, recently held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Kyrgyzstan, Altamash Wazir Khan.

According to the press service of the parliament, the discussion focused on the prospects for developing political and economic relations between the two countries. Special attention was given to strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Mamataliyev emphasized the importance of the start of Altamash Wazir Khan's diplomatic mission in Kyrgyzstan and shared his ideas on expanding bilateral ties.

The Speaker highlighted that Kyrgyzstan aims to develop cooperation with Pakistan in various areas and mentioned the significance of the recent visit of President Sadyr Japarov to that country.

“We see many opportunities for deepening relations between our states. We should particularly focus on developing trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian ties. We are also ready for active inter-parliamentary dialogue and to support the implementation of the agreements reached,” noted the Speaker.

Additionally, he stressed the need to organize mutual working visits and highlighted the importance of forming friendship groups among deputies.

Altamash Wazir Khan, for his part, congratulated Mamataliyev on his election as Speaker and expressed confidence that his experience would help elevate the relations between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan to a new level.

He also emphasized that deepening inter-parliamentary dialogue is a relevant task and invited the Speaker to visit Pakistan on an official visit in the near future.

“Kyrgyzstan is a gateway to Central Asia for our entrepreneurs. We must seize this opportunity and improve our trade relations,” he added.
