According to the new resolution, the Cabinet introduces temporary restrictions on the import of seedlings of fruit and berry crops into the country.
In accordance with the resolution, the following measures will be taken:
1. From March 1, 2026, a temporary ban on the import of seedlings of fruit and berry varieties will be introduced for a period of six months, except for those varieties specified in the annex to the resolution. The restrictions do not apply to goods from the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union and the transit of seedlings through Kyrgyzstan.
2. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce must notify the Committee on Safeguard Measures of the World Trade Organization and the Eurasian Economic Commission about the introduction of this temporary ban.
3. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is obliged to notify the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States about the introduction of this restriction within three days.
4. The State Customs Service and the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry must take measures to prevent the illegal import of fruit and berry varieties, except for those specified in the annex.
5. The Cabinet of Ministers' resolution dated July 2, 2024, No. 346, regarding the temporary restriction on the import of seedlings, is recognized as having lost its force.
6. Control over the compliance with this resolution is assigned to the Department for Monitoring the Implementation of Decisions of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
7. The resolution will be officially published and will come into force on March 1, 2026.
