Kassym-Jomart Tokayev informed Sadyr Japarov about the constitutional reform in Kazakhstan

On February 17, a telephone conversation took place between the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This contact occurred at the initiative of the Kazakh side, according to information provided by the press service of the President's administration of Kyrgyzstan.

During the conversation, the heads of the two states discussed important issues concerning Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations, including the implementation of previously reached agreements in areas such as trade, transport, industrial cooperation, energy, and water resources.

President Tokayev informed Sadyr Japarov about the constitutional reform process aimed at creating a stable foundation for the further development of Kazakhstan. Sadyr Japarov, in turn, expressed his support for these significant changes, including the proposal to create a unicameral parliament, and wished for a successful nationwide referendum.

The leaders emphasized the importance of resolving all issues based on trust and traditional friendship, which will contribute to the effective development of their multifaceted interaction.

In addition, the presidents exchanged views on domestic political reforms, discussed current regional and international issues, and outlined plans for joint activities in a multilateral format.
