On February 18, Tynchtyk Shainazarov, the chairman of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda, held a meeting with a delegation from the European Parliament led by Giusi Princi. The event was also attended by Rémi Duflot, the ambassador and head of the European Union delegation in Kyrgyzstan, as well as representatives from several countries, including Italy, Finland, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, and Bulgaria.

Shainazarov noted that Kyrgyzstan and the CEC are open to constructive dialogue and cooperation with European countries. He also reminded that parliamentary elections in the country took place on November 30, 2025, and international observers were invited to monitor the process. A total of 778 individuals participated in the observation, of which 374 represented OSCE missions.

He added that the composition of the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh of the VIII convocation has been fully formed and includes 90 deputies, among whom four more received their mandates at the meeting.

According to the head of the CEC, the newly introduced electoral system promotes gender equality and expands opportunities for active citizen participation in voting, including remote voting. The use of modern technologies has reduced the risks of violations, such as ballot stuffing and "carousel" voting.

Princi, in turn, noted that the composition of the delegation underscores the high interest of the European Parliament in strengthening ties and partnerships with Kyrgyzstan. She expressed the opinion that the electoral process in the country appears transparent and fair, and showed interest in the practical aspects of the new electoral system. ```
