- At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on February 19, 2026, Erkinbek Isenaliev expressed concern about the use of imported fish feed, which has become a matter of worry among fishery leaders.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Zhanibek Kerimaliev reminded that until February 12, 2026, a 0% VAT rate was in effect for the import of feed; however, from that date, the VAT rate was reinstated to support local producers.

Nevertheless, he noted that there is no ban on the import of foreign feed.

Isenaliev also called for an inspection of the quality of feed produced in the country.

On the same day, the draft law "On the Ratification of the Protocol Amending the Marrakech Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organization (Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies)" was discussed, which was adopted at the Twelfth Session of the WTO Ministerial Conference on June 17, 2022, in Geneva, in its second reading.
