Adylbek Kasymaliev: Over 60 types of Kyrgyz agricultural products are exported to more than 80 countries around the world
Kasymaliev noted that last year, the volume of agricultural production amounted to 459.7 billion soms, which is 62.9 billion soms higher than the level of 2024, with a growth rate of 102.2%. In the processing sector, goods worth 104.7 billion soms were produced, which is 16.2 billion soms more than in 2024, with a growth of 130.1%.
"The export of agricultural products also shows positive results: more than 60 types of goods are successfully exported to over 80 countries, and 6 out of 9 main types of food supply the population of our country," he added.
"These results have been made possible thanks to your hard work. I want to emphasize that cooperation between the authorities and business is becoming increasingly coordinated each year. We have made significant progress in addressing issues related to fuel, financing, and other aspects. The National Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2030 in the field of agriculture outlines key directions, such as: increasing agricultural production by 30%, doubling processing volumes, reducing water losses to 15%, expanding irrigated land by 15,000 hectares, and improving water supply to 93,000 hectares of land. Given the importance of water resources, 12.3 billion soms have been allocated for irrigation in 2026. In total, 41.1 billion soms are planned for agriculture, which is significantly more compared to 31.5 billion soms in 2025," noted Kasymaliev.
He also emphasized that for the future, active development of the material and technical base in seed production, breeding livestock, and nurseries is necessary, paying special attention to the effective use of preferential loans for implemented projects.
According to the head of the Cabinet, the government intends to increase the volume of agricultural product processing to 25% by 2030 and to 50% by 2040, while currently this figure stands at only 7%. To achieve this goal, it is planned to launch 385 new processing enterprises by 2030, of which 75 should start operating as early as 2026, as well as to develop agro-clusters and value-added chains.
In conclusion of his speech, Kasymaliev drew attention to success stories, such as the Netherlands, where tulips generate over 1 billion euros in income, and Turkey, which exports dried apricots worth about 400 million dollars a year. He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan has begun to bring dried apricots to the international market and highlighted the need to continue efforts to promote Kyrgyz apricots. The initial steps should involve expanding the sales of domestic products in the internal market, increasing their value, organizing high-level promotion, and forming a culture of consumption.
