The implementation of this project is carried out by the Veterinary Service, as well as specialists in livestock development, pastures, and feed. The main goal of the initiative is to improve epizootic surveillance and respond quickly to threats of the spread of particularly dangerous diseases among animals.
The creation of the system has been entrusted to the state institution "AgroSmart," which operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
GIS "SUMO" will be a modern web application designed for visualizing, accounting for, and analyzing data on the veterinary and sanitary situation in the country, as stated in the announcement.
As part of this project, the following activities are planned:
- development of an interactive map that will indicate anthrax outbreaks, locations for the disposal of biological waste, and veterinary infrastructure facilities;
- implementation of a system for accounting veterinary and sanitary measures;
- creation of a centralized database for analytics, reporting, and management decision-making;
- automated notification of responsible services upon the detection of new disease outbreaks;
- integration with existing state information systems.
According to representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the implementation of this system will improve the transparency of veterinary procedures, enhance disease prevention, and increase the overall level of biological safety in the country.
