At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh held on February 26, 2026, Deputy Mahabat Mavlyanova proposed an initiative for the active development of organic agriculture in Kyrgyzstan.
She emphasized that the unrestricted use of agrochemicals and mineral fertilizers could lead to serious soil degradation, which could ultimately turn fertile agricultural lands into barren wastelands.

According to Mavlyanova, the transition to organic farming opens up new opportunities for the export of environmentally friendly products, promotes regional development, and helps reduce the level of external migration of the population.

To begin work in this direction, the deputy suggested using idle rain-fed (non-irrigated) lands by installing drip irrigation systems. This solution will allow for the efficient use of limited water resources and increase yields without the use of chemical fertilizers.
