A dispute occurred in the Jogorku Kenesh between a deputy and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
In response to these remarks, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Zhanibek Kerimaliev noted that updating bean varieties is necessary to increase yields.
He also added that there is a problem of land depletion.
“It is necessary to periodically renew the land and apply fertilizers,” he emphasized.
Deputy Chotonov insisted on the need to address the issue of updating bean seeds to enhance productivity.
“We need to support farmers,” he noted.
Kerimaliev, for his part, pointed out that in recent years, significant attention has been paid to seeds and farmers, as well as the situation in Talas.
“If we constantly talk about the bad, that’s how it will be. You want to convey the voice of the people to us, but it is also important to see the positive results of our work,” he said.
The Deputy Minister added that many projects are being implemented for the Talas region, including the construction of canals, BSR, and BDR.
However, the deputy countered, pointing out that not a single BDR has been built in Talas so far; only projects have been presented.
“Even in your lots, there is no sluice. We need to be able not only to collect money from people but also to work effectively,” the deputy stated.
This issue was discussed in the context of the draft law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic (to the laws ‘On the Protection and Use of Plant Life’ and ‘On the Development of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic’)”, which is being submitted for the first reading.
