Through comprehensive measures, Kyrgyzstan has reached an important stage in the process of being removed from the European Union's blacklist, where the country has been for two decades. This was stated by President Sadyr Japarov at a republican meeting.
He noted that work has been carried out in the country to modernize airports, update runways, and reconstruct terminals, as well as to implement modern navigation and flight safety standards. "These steps have significantly improved connectivity between regions, simplified the movement of citizens, and created a reliable foundation for the development of international air communication," the president added.
Japarov emphasized that thanks to the work done, the country's aviation infrastructure now meets current requirements. "Kyrgyzstan is at a decisive stage of exiting the European Union's blacklist, where we have been for twenty years," he noted.
He also added that the opening of European airspace will create new opportunities for the tourism industry, attracting investments, and improving the country's international image.
Joining the single aviation space will provide access to passenger and cargo transport markets, which will contribute to economic growth and improve the living standards of citizens.
It should be noted that the republican meeting to summarize the results of 2025 took place at "Yntymak Ordo" with the participation of President Sadyr Japarov.
Members of the government, heads of state bodies, authorized representatives of the president in the regions, mayors of the cities of Bishkek and Osh, as well as district akims also participated in the meeting.
