- In 2026, the republican budget will allocate 399 million soms for subsidizing interest rates on loans aimed at small and medium-sized businesses. This information was announced by Nurbek Umetaliev, head of the entrepreneurship development department of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, on the radio.

According to him, the preferential lending program will be in effect until 2030, implying annual funding from the government. This year, the total volume of the loan portfolio will amount to 3.7 billion soms.

Preferential loans are available through 4 banks and can be used for investment needs, replenishing working capital, as well as for refinancing previously taken loans.

“Small and medium-sized businesses account for approximately 50% of the country’s gross domestic product, so supporting this sector is a priority,” Umetaliev noted.

It is planned that 60% of the allocated funds will be directed to the regions, and 40% will support women entrepreneurs. Among the priority areas, Umetaliev highlighted the textile industry as an export-oriented sector.

In addition, the program provides support for startups. Beginning entrepreneurs will be able to receive up to 1 million soms for a period of 18 months, with a grace period of up to 6 months.
