“In particular, the measures concern goods used in the leather and chemical industries, as well as means for processing textiles, leather, fur, and other materials. Import duties on these products will be eliminated for three years or tariff benefits will be provided for a similar period. Earlier, decisions on this nomenclature had already been made by the Board,” said EEC Minister for Trade Andrey Slepnev.
In addition, the EEC Council decided to provide tariff benefits until May 15 of this year for the following types of fruits:
- for apricots, the import limit is set at no more than 600 tons to Belarus and 3,000 tons to Kazakhstan;
- for cherries, the limit is 0.5 thousand tons for Kazakhstan and 2,000 tons for Russia;
- for sweet cherries, the allowed import volume is 0.6 thousand tons to Belarus, 1.5 thousand tons to Kazakhstan, and 25,000 tons to Russia;
- for plums, the limits are set at 0.7 thousand tons for Belarus, 1.5 thousand tons for Kazakhstan, and 23,000 tons for Russia.
Also, for two years, import duties on certain types of fabrics used in the production of carpets and carpet products will be eliminated. All these decisions will come into effect ten days after their official publication.
