The project, titled "Creating Framework Conditions for the Mass Implementation of Energy Innovations in Agricultural Systems of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan," is being implemented by the Public Fund "Center for the Development of RES and Energy Efficiency" in collaboration with Welthungerhilfe e.V. The project is supported by the Small Grants and Climate Innovations Fund (SGCIF), which is financed by the UK government. SGCIF is part of the regional program "Managing Climate Risks in Central Asia," implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German government.
The main goal of this project is to create conditions for the widespread adoption of environmentally friendly energy technologies in the agricultural sector, which will enhance farmers' energy independence and reduce production costs.
As part of the practical implementation planned for the first quarter of 2026, the design, installation, and demonstration of the following solutions will take place:
- solar photovoltaic stations (PV) for autonomous power supply, including pumping systems and ventilation;
- heat pumps that will help reduce heating and hot water supply costs in greenhouses and production facilities;
- solar electric fences (electric enclosures) for protecting agricultural plots;
- drip irrigation systems;
- solar tunnel dryers for the accelerated processing of fruits and vegetables, which will help reduce crop losses.
Additionally, the establishment of demonstration plots is planned, where four technologies will be installed at four different sites, conducting training workshops for specialists, and supporting the development of supply chains by encouraging purchases from local producers.
