In the Chuy region, raids aimed at combating illegal fuel transportation in modified SUVs have begun.

According to information provided by the press service of the Traffic Police of the regional Interior Ministry, from March 3 to March 7, 2026, a preventive event called "Additional Equipment" is taking place in the region. The main objective of the operation is to curb illegal activities related to the transportation and sale of fuel and lubricants (F&L).

During the inspections, law enforcement agencies identify motorists who have installed makeshift fuel tanks on their cars and SUVs. According to the police, such vehicles are used to transport fuel with serious violations of safety regulations.

As part of the raids, citizens engaged in illegal F&L trade directly on the roadside are also discovered. Offenders are issued protocols based on Articles 179-194 of the Code of Offenses.

Currently, about 20 SUV owners with unauthorized tanks have already received fines of 5,500 soms each.

Vehicles that have been modified without the necessary permits are placed in specialized impound lots until the violations are rectified.

The Traffic Police noted that such raids are conducted regularly. The main goal is to ensure order on the roads and traffic safety, as unauthorized modifications to vehicles and the transportation of explosive substances pose a serious threat to the lives of citizens.
