In the Kadamjay District, a suspect has been detained for extortion for the return of a part from hunting weapons.

In the Kadamjay district, police officers uncovered a case of extortion related to the illegal acquisition of parts of a firearm. This was reported by the press service of the Interior Ministry of the Batken region.

According to information provided by the regional police, a 50-year-old citizen, A. Masaliev, residing in the village of Tash-Korgon, approached the Kadamjay district internal affairs department. In his statement, he reported that on February 28, 2026, at approximately 10:00 AM, he went hunting in the village of Pum, located in the Maidan rural district, with a registered firearm.

He stated that at the hunting site, he encountered an unfamiliar man who forcibly took his weapon and claimed he would only return it for a monetary reward.

This incident was recorded at the Kadamjay district internal affairs department. During the investigation, it was revealed that a 43-year-old local resident, A. U., had taken the bolt of the hunting firearm from the hunter.

He demanded 30,000 soms for the return of the part. In case of refusal, he threatened to contact government authorities to create problems for the legal owner of the weapon.

As a result of operational measures, officers from the Uch-Korgon police department detained the suspect, A. U.

Based on this fact, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 208 ("Extortion") of the Criminal Code. Investigative actions are currently ongoing.
