Farmers reminded of the importance of crop rotation and modern agricultural technologies, - Ministry of Agriculture
According to Mambetov, crop rotation is a key agronomic practice that helps maintain soil fertility.
“Farmers must definitely apply crop rotation. We do not insist on a five-field system, but at least a three- or four-field system must be used,” he noted.
Mambetov clarified that it is necessary to alternate agricultural crops. For example, after cereals, corn can be planted, then sugar beets, and after that, perennial crops for soil restoration.
Additionally, he emphasized the importance of conducting winter plowing.
“During winter plowing, moisture accumulates in the soil, which helps saturate it with oxygen. If farmers rely only on spring plowing, the accumulated moisture quickly evaporates, and they have to wait for precipitation after sowing,” he explained.
Mambetov added that this is especially relevant for cereal crops.
He also noted that the application of modern agricultural technologies is an important factor for increasing yields.
“Even if a farmer has certified seeds, if he does not apply correct agricultural technologies, he will not be able to achieve the expected yield,” he added.
The Ministry is interested in ensuring that farmers obtain high-quality yields, as Mambetov emphasized.
